Day Job is an Alternative Rock/Post-Punk band from Leicester, formed in 2021. Made up of Nick Brooker (top) on Guitar and Lead Vocals, Chris Jones (middle) bass and vocals and Dan Wright (bottom) drums & vocals.

We're incredibly proud of our working class, DIY approach to music making and aesthetic and write, record and produce our own music in our small studio.

​

Our music is heavily influenced by artists such as Talking Heads, Yard Act, IDLES, Fontaines DC, and David Bowie. Lyrically, we aim to tackle societies most prolific and troubling issues including a cost of living crisis, corrupt politics, consumerism and a feeling of slipping back into 1970s divisive British values all delivered 'tongue in cheek' with a wink and smile.

We've recently had the opportunity to perform across the East Midlands and in London and have worked with promotion company 'This Feeling' supporting The Lotts at a sell out show in Leicester. 

​

Our first EP, 'Get What You're Given', will be released in March 2023. We are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to the EP and can't wait to share it with the world. Follow us on our social media pages to stay up to date with all of our latest news!
